Ransom Rifle Master

The original American made Rifle Rest was designed and patented by Ransom International.

In our search for perfection in accurate shooting, Ransom International invented the tri leg bench rest we call the Rifle Master. We tested, measured and created a rest to achieve the result of a reliable, stable, and accurate shooting platform. The result of our studies is the Ransom Rifle Master. We feel it has proven itself and has withstood the test of time. It is still the standard of the industry today. It has grown in its use and dependability over the years. It has been used during many world records and bench rest competitions. Many rests today may look like our Patented design but there is a clear difference to the original American Rifle Master Rest.

The Rifle Master is designed to give maximum stability. This competition rifle bench rest is manufactured from a grade of cast iron specifically chosen for its resistance to vibration transmission. The base includes an instrument grade level so the Rifle Master can be leveled precisely to compensate for bench variations: everything is designed to bring the Rifle enthusiast a tool for shooting that is portable, accurate, and simple.

The rear rest is adjustable in height with elevation screws which are locked in position with lock rings. Windage adjustments are made using the windage adjustable bag plate. THE AMERICAN ORIGINAL

The difference is quality, and attention to detail. As with all products from Ransom International Corporation, every factor that influences accuracy has been considered and optimized in the design of the Rifle Master. Proudly designed and made in USA the Rifle Master has designed for Competition Bench Rest shooting. Approved by FCSA and shooter associations as a competition rifle bench rest.

SPECIFICATIONS

First of all, the Ransom Rifle Master is heavy. Weighing from 23 to 38 pounds (depending on accessories), the Rifle Master represents a rock-solid platform for evaluating the accuracy of your rifles. Weight and mass are important factors for stability, resistance to vibration, and even possible movement from the bench. Major castings of the Ransom Rifle Master are formed from a carefully-selected metal alloy; an alloy that is designed to minimize harmonic and residual vibrations under actual shooting conditions.

The central elevation mechanism consists of two large-diameter columns fitted to tolerances of .0001 inch, and hardened to retain a tight, precise fit. Even the shape of the threads used for elevation were carefully taken into consideration: Acme-form threads are employed, due to their superior stability under load-bearing conditions.

NOT YOUR TYPICAL LIGHTWEIGHT REST

Its “typical” look does not readily reveal that some extraordinary elements of design and manufacturing that are used to produce exceptional results. Other rifle rests that are available on today’s market you may have used (or seen) were probably advertised as convenient, nice, “portable,” and easy to transport to the bench. They may incorporate a similar shape or style of our time-tested Master Series Rest. However, the Ransom Rifle Master is heavy, approximately 23-38 lbs. (10.4-17.23 kg), depending on selected options because this rest is meant to be used.

OPTIMIZE YOUR FIREARM

Consider the large amount of time and money you have invested in creating your custom hunting or match rifles. Additionally, think about how much work it took to develop the ammunition and load you are shooting. Now two important questions arise:

1. Does it make sense to shoot that rifle and load in conditions that are not as optimal as the rifle’s capabilities?

2. Are you using a rifle rest that is not the quality equivalent of the rifle load?

Certainly, a rest that would feedback vibration into the rifle would adversely affect its accuracy. You must have a rest that remains stable and does not induce adverse effects.
